GET FRUITY PARTY THEME

Summer will soon be on the way and a party filled with colourful fruit themed pieces is perfect for those hot summer days.  We've found all you need to bring this fun party theme together.

First you need to set out transforming your chosen party venue.  Use simple balloons to create a jazzy fruit themed garland!  Simply top different sized balloons with paper leaves and stalks to turn them into little fruits.  Our favourite has to be the pineapple.  You could arrange them in a large bowl to create a show-stopping centrepiece for your party table or lace them all onto a string to create a fruit-tastic garland!

Party Tableware

No need to worry if your tableware isn't specifically fruit themed; dress your table in something bright and bold like polka dots to create a base for your party theme.  You can then accessorise the table with themed decorations and party treats.

Ice cream tubs are a great way to showcase fruity treats like strawberries and cream or you could make a DIY fruit cocktail station with a selection of fruits that your guests can choose from.  For more of a tropical theme, display chunks of your favourite fruit on cocktail sticks, you can then poke them into larger fruits such as oranges and grapefruit to create a unique focal point for the party table.  If you're serving fruit mocktails remember the essential cocktail umbrellas to give them added fun and colour!

Party Favours

Colourful party favours like these will definitely brighten up the table!  These printable sweet apple boxes make for an easy and effective way to give small gifts.

Party Food

Who knew there were so many exciting ways to serve this healthy treat.  A simple fruit salad can look beautiful on the party table, especially when filled with tropical and exotic fruits like passion fruit and kiwi.  Here are some other ways you could incorporate fruit into your party menu.

  • Smoothies
  • Chocolate dipped strawberries
  • Fruit topped cupcakes
  • Fruit pizza with yoghurt topping
  • Rainbow fruit kebabs
  • Fruit fondue
  • Fruit flavoured icecream

TEDDY BEAR'S PICNIC PARTY

Celebrate your little one's birthday out in the sunshine this Spring with a teddy bear's picnic party!  Spread blankets in your garden or in the dappled shade of a tree at your local park and ask friends to bring their favourite teddy along. With colourful party food, classic party games and pretty decorations, they'll all be sure of a big surprise!

Make sure you bring plenty of picnic blankets for your guests to sit on and perhaps a few cushions.  You can use the cushions later for an outside version of musical chairs during the fun and games.  Hang balloons from branches of nearby trees or use a banner or streamers to set out the party zone, so everyone knows how to find it.

Party Food

For kids, one of the most exciting elements about a picnic is the fun of eating in an unusual setting, so stick to classic party food and sandwich fillings, such as honey (a famous bear's favourite) or cheese and ham.  Vegetable sticks are easily portable to the party site and will go down a treat with a yummy dip.   Mini sausages can be cooked in advance and wrapped in foil to keep warm.  If you want to offer fruit, bananas are ideal as they come with their own wrapping!

Instead of packing all the food into one large hamper as you would for a family picnic, pack each child's party picnic into a bear themed party box so that they can have fun discovering each little treat inside.  Carton juice drinks are also ideal for a picnic party and will keep spillage to a minimum. Homemade flapjack or rice crispie cakes are simple to make in advance and can be divided evenly.  For the birthday cake, you may opt for individual cupcakes that you can stack on a colourful cake stand in the middle of the spread, avoiding the need for a knife.

Party Games

As you are outside and have plenty of space, make sure that the children have a chance to run around.   Bringing a portable music player might be helpful to sing along to or use for musical bumps and dancing games that will add to the party atmosphere.  A treasure hunt around the garden with clues for prizes will add to the sense of adventure for those, who like Pooh Bear, are rather fond of an expedition!

Party Bags

Fill their party bags with bear themed party treats such as:

  • A tiny soft toy
  • A finger puppet
  • A bear sticker
  • A stationery set

A tube of bubbles will be a fun finale when saying goodbye to guests or a bear themed helium balloon each that can be tied to their teddy bear's paw for safe keeping until they get safely back home.

Gift Idea

Your Teddy Bear's Picnic wouldn't be complete without our adorable sterling silver teddy bear who will always be there to give you a hug!

WE {HEART} PINK PARTY

You can never have too much pink to celebrate your special day and there are all kinds of options to suit any age.  From bubblegum and bright pink for the younger ones and blush and dusky pink for the teenagers, there are all sorts of options for decorating your party venue.  You don't have to stick to block colour; opt for exciting patterns and motifs such as bold pink polka dots, candy stripes, floral prints and hearts.

Fill your party room with lots of fun textures; big pink balloons, pink pom poms and bunting will all work together to make a show stopping display. If you're feeling creative, why not have a go at making your own decorations. We love these cute little DIY umbrellas from Oh Happy Day

Party Food

There are lots of lovely ways to incorporate pink into your party food and pink food colouring will be your most handy tool for this party theme.  You can ice fairy cakes, sweet buns, doughnuts and cookies to make a pretty little cake display for your party guests.  Go all out on your display and serve them on a colourful range of pink cake stands and plates or try adding pink doilies to white plates for a more vintage effect.

Party Favours

PARTY STYLING - ANYONE FOR TEA?

There's nothing nicer than getting together with friends with a good supply of tea and cakes.  A tea party may sound old fashioned with over used crockery and lace doilies, so why not brighten things up with modern colours and bold patterns!

Setting up your Tea Party

Looks are everything!  Find your vintage china, the ones Grandma gave you and mix it up with today's on-line offerings. Melamine platters are perfect if you are worried about any breakages.

Find a pretty tablecloth and pair with some colourful paper napkins.  Glass bowls look great piled high with strawberries and bunches of beautiful flowers make a great centrepiece.  Hang quirky lampshade bunting and floral paper garlands from the walls or between branches outside.  Both are so easy to make and are perfect for adding colour to your celebration.

Tea Party food

The best bit!  Cut those crusts off your bread!  Triangle or finger sandwiches? No matter what, cucumber sandwiches with cream cheese are a must!  You can then choose other fillings such as chocolate spread.  Scones with jam and clotted cream are easy to make and of course, a few fairy cakes.  They look amazing on a cake stand decorated with pretty sprinkles.  Add a Victoria sponge cake for good measure.  Any cake can be a delight, lemon drizzle, chocolate fudge - it's a good excuse to get out all the cake recipes you've been meaning to bake.  Children will love serving themselves lemonade or juice from a teapot into elegant teacups.

Forget your simple glazed ring doughnuts! Jazz things up with a splash of vibrant food colouring and multi coloured toppings.  You could let your guests do the creative bit by offering icing and toppings for them to sprinkle themselves!

Party Games

If you want to organise party games you could play 'Teabag Toss'. Lay out 10 teacups in rows as you would in skittles and assign a number of points to each teacup.  Each player has 5 teabags to toss into the teacups and the guest with the most points wins!  Make sure you have a suitable prize - an adorable Tea Set for one would be perfect!

Gift Idea

A bold and bright tea party is a beautiful way of celebrating special friendships. Send you guests home with a Friendship bracelet from the Little Moments collection for them to always remember their special day!

PARTY STYLING - FLOWER FAIRIES PARTY

With Spring around the corner Fairy themed parties are hugely popular and if your little one likes to help out in the garden a Flower Fairy birthday party is the perfect way to share this enthusiasm with her friends.  This party theme works well inside, though it is even better in the garden where the flower are.

Party Decorations

A Flower Fairy party wouldn't be complete without lots of flower decorations. Hang floral bunting across the party area, suspend coloured tissue pom-poms throughout and scatter pretty cushions on the ground to create a flowery fairy glade.  Pink, purple, yellow and flower patterned balloons can fill any gaps in the room or tied to the back of each chair or party box to be taken home afterwards.

Don't forget to add lots of flowers too! Whether you're inside or outside, fill metal buckets and jam jars with your favourite blooms. Tie bunches of flowers to fences and perhaps even scatter some petals around to add to the effect!

Dress the tea table with wild flowers in jars to add those finishing touches that your guests will enjoy.  Cake stands, pretty platters and jugs in pastel hues are reusable and will set everything off nicely!

Party Invitations

Send your little guests themed party invitations or have fun making them at home using pressed flowers.  Alternatively, cut different coloured card and tissue into flower shapes and layer these before writing on the back.

Party costumes

Little girls of all ages love any excuse to dress up so ask them all to come dressed as their favourite Flower Fairy.  A great party favour might be a pair of wings that they can wear all afternoon and keep or a pretty floral headband. Have a few spare dresses from your little one's wardrobe on hand just in case someone forgets!

Party Food

For the food, offer fairy bread and sandwiches cut into flower and butterfly shapes using cookie cutters.  Pink wafer biscuits and butterfly cupcakes in pretty wrappers are perfect food for fairies too. Personalise the birthday cake or sprinkle it with crystallised edible flower petals and pretty candles.  Serve party drinks like cordial, pink lemonade and squash with fun straws and garnish the jugs with a mint stem or two.

Party Favours

Send your guests home with handbags which you can fill with fun favours such as packets of seeds that they can sow at home, fairy gliders, bubbles, jewellery or bouncy balls.  Alternatively ask them to hunt around the garden for the bag with their name on it, especially hidden for them with the fairies help.

Gift Idea

With a sprinkling of fairy dust, our Tinkerbell Fairy necklace makes the perfect enchanted gift for your Flower Fairy themed party!

PARTY STYLING - UNICORNS & RAINBOWS

Unicorns - we love them!  There's nothing more magical than a unicorn and rainbow party theme so here's a look at our favourite ways to style this super fun birthday party theme!

Party decorations

Create a magical atmosphere for your guests with all sorts of colourful hanging decorations.  Try mixing with other decorations like party tassels, paper fans and tissue pom poms for more of a dramatic effect!  Don't forget to set the dress code.  Unicorn fancy dress may be a little difficult to get hold of, so set a looser costume theme such as 'fairy tale' or 'magical creatures'.

Party food

Put on a colourful spread with rainbow themed cakes and pastel coloured sweet treats like marshmallows.  Try using cookie cutters to shape sandwiches into little stars and hearts, children will love helping you with these.  A rainbow crepe or pancake station is such a fun idea.  Set up a little table for DIY pancake topping with a range of different fillings for your guests to choose from!  We're almost certain that unicorns love carrots just as much as horses do, so don't forget the healthy carrot sticks too!

No unicorn party is complete without glittery unicorn horn party hats.  All you need is a little glitter and face paints to finish off your magical transformations. You could even pop one in each of your guests party bags to take home with them!

Gift Idea

The ultimate gift for a unicorn themed party is of course our Magical Unicorn sterling silver necklace from the Wishes & Dreams collection.

MERMAID PARTY BAGS

We are loving the Mermaid trend at the moment and these sparkly party bags are perfect if you are hosting a mermaid or ocean themed party!

What you will need:

  • Blue paper party bags (or a colour to match your theme)
  • Glitter and sequins
  • Flat edged craft pearls
  • Mermaid template
  • Glue and blue pen

First create your mermaid template by printing out or drawing your mermaid design on card. With a craft knife or scissors cut out your shape leaving a mermaid shaped stencil.

Place your stencil in the centre of the party bag and hold firmly in position whilst you draw around the shape. Using a brush or spatula, spread a thin layer of glue within the stencil space.

Sprinkle a generous layer of glitter on top of the mermaid shaped glue. Shake off the excess glitter and you are left with a sparkly mermaid!

Next embellish your party bag with sequins and pearls. You can glue one of the pearls on the mermaid's tail and use glitter and sequins to create bubbles above the mermaid.

Using the blue pen, write your guests' names in a swirling font on the bottom of the bag and surround with bubbles.

We hope you enjoy this party craft!

Gift Idea

Make a splash with our Mermaid Shell necklace.
